  • 2nd Place 65+: Trophy + $100
  • 1st U1800: Trophy + $100

*Foreign players are welcome but are only eligible for cash prizes.  Only Canadian citizens or Canadian residents are eligible for all prizes including trophies, titles, cash prizes, and the right to represent Canada at the Pan American Senior Championship.

**Qualification requirements and conditions as Canada’s Official Representative to the Pan American Senior Championship:

  1. Canadian citizenship or resident.

  3. No travel costs are included; however, the Pan American Senior Championship Organizers may provide some conditions to national champions. No further information available at this time.

Who qualifies?

  • Any player who resides in Canada and who is 50 years old or better in any part of 2016 is qualified to play in the 2016 Canadian Senior Chess Championship.
  • Qualification requirements and conditions as Canada’s Official Representative to the Pan American Senior Championship:
    1. Canadian citizenship or resident.
    2. Must have FIDE flag under Canada.
    3. No travel costs are included; however, the Pan American Senior Championship Organizers may provide some conditions to national champions. No further information at this time.

Can I pay by cheque?

  • No, this option is no longer available. Registration is now CLOSED.

How do I pay after May 31, 2016?

  • We hit our max capacity/players.  Registration is now CLOSED.

Will there be a Blitz tournament?

  • No, due to low interest, there will not be a blitz tournament this year.

What about parking and restaurants at venue?

  • Parking is FREE!
  • Tim Hortons and pub on site!

Tiebreaks

  • 1st tiebreak for non cash prizes is individual cumulative score.
  • 2nd tiebreak is cumulative score of opponents.
  • 3rd tiebreak is Head-to-Head.
