On June 13 – 14, 2015, a special tournament, the Peter Yee Memorial, was held at the Langley Chess Club to commemorate and recognize our friend and long time club member Peter Yee who passed away in March 2015.

We were honoured to have Peter’s wife, Maye, join us at the Opening Ceremonies where several of Peter’s friends and colleagues told their favourite Peter Yee story.

The President of the Langley Chess Club, Hugh Long presented Maye with a cheque for $362, which was of all the online donations and proceeds from the Peter Yee Memorial, to be donated to VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation In Memory of Peter Yee for the Leukemia/BMT program.
